Found a gem of a restaurant here. Its opp to hotel holy himalaya Its clean, bright (lighting could be made a bit more warm and cosy - candles and some flowers on tables maybe?). There is a choice of tables and dining chairs on 1st floor or i just found out there are high back sofa cubicles on the 2nd floor balcony. For family events or business meetings, hey there is even a private function room and external big table!
Menu wise, i ried chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. Chicken was moist and flavourful and came in right sized chunks.portion was good enough to eat witj 2 big grlic naans. Thicky gravy. A bit spicy but that's me with chaped lips after trekking. Has the real kick for real chilli lovers. Even better than good restaurants in Delhi. Naan was done just right, crispy and light without being too oily. Tried the tandoori chicken packed. From one who cooks at home, it is well marinated and seasoned. Indian verson of finger licking good when i ate it in my hotel room. The accompanying green chilli dip was freshly made it een more yummy!
You have to try their mint lemonade. Tall glass of ice cold heavenly drink. Told them to promote it more. I saw their banana lassi being served to other guests - looked good. You can even have a free glass of drinking water - unlike other restaurants that charge you or insist that you order mineral water. Staff and owners were so friendly and always smiling that i now know most of their names. Price ? 600 npr for chik tikka masala with 2 garlic naan n 1 mint lemonade. Can't beat that. 350 npr for half a chik tandoori. Am going back there again and packing some to bring home for family in Singapore.
